Rotating electrical machines - Part 2-1: Standard methods for determining losses and efficiency from tests (excluding machines for traction vehicles) (IEC 60034-2-1:2014); German version EN 60034-2-1:2014
Drehende elektrische Maschinen - Teil 2-1: Standardverfahren zur Bestimmung der Verluste und des Wirkungsgrades aus Prüfungen (ausgenommen Maschinen für Schienen- und Straßenfahrzeuge) (IEC 60034-2-1:2014); Deutsche Fassung EN 60034-2-1:2014
Overview
This part of VDE 0530 contains the set of methods for determining the efficiency from tests and specifies measurement methods for recording certain losses. This standard is valid for direct current machines as well as synchronous and induction AC machines of all sizes within the scope of VDE 0530-1. The test methods are now grouped into preferred methods and methods on the plant or routine test. Preferred methods have a low level of uncertainty and only one preferred method is now defined for a particular type of evaluation and machine. The requirements for the measuring equipment have been detailed and refined compared to the previous edition. The description of tests required for a specific method is now given in the order in which they are required to perform the test. This is intended to prevent misunderstandings and improve the accuracy of the procedures. In addition, a flow chart shows the sequence of the tests for each procedure. The responsible committee is DKE/K 311 "Drehende elektrische Maschinen" ("Rotating electrical machines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Informational Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
