Overview
This prestandard describes requirements for the maintenance of equipment and installations of electrical supply networks as well as general applicable procedures. It applies to operators of electrical supply networks especially public networks. Excluded are for the time being: - High voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmissions; - traction systems; - road lightning networks; - equipment for the end-users; - installations for the generation of electrical energy. Measurements of the crisis management, for example, in the case of a catastrophe are not subject of this standard. The responsible committee is DKE/K 227 "Instandhaltung von elektrischen Betriebsmitteln der Elektrizitätsversorgungsnetze" ("Maintenance of electrical equipment of electricity supply networks") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
