DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE

Overview

This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55016-2-1:2009 + A1:2011 + A2:2013 and it is identical to the International Standard CISPR 16-2-1:2008 and its Amendment 1:2010 and Amendment 2:2013. It contains specifications for the measurement of radio frequency conducted disturbances (disturbance voltages and currents) of electrical and electronic equipment mainly in the frequency range 9 kHz to 30 MHz. The measurement is carried out at the respective ports, for example at the power supply and telecommunication ports of the apparatus. This standard contains the required definitions and the types of disturbance to be measured are described. The connection and test arrangement of measuring equipment, the general measurement requirements and conditions, the test set-up, etcetera, are then described and the specifications for interpretation of measuring results are given. Measurements can be carried out on open-area test sites or, alternatively, in shielded rooms. Moreover, requirements for automated measurements are specified. The standard also considers a reduction of measurement time and gives instructions for this purpose. With respect to the previous edition, specifications for measurement methods have been adopted from the International Standard CISPR 22. For this purpose, definitions of the terms "total common mode impedance" and "asymmetric artificial network" have been introduced and the previous specifications for EUT arrangement have been replaced. In this context, specifications for operation of multifunction equipment, determination of the arrangement that maximizes emissions and for recording the measurement results have been included. Moreover, Annex G containing guidance for measurements on telecommunication ports, Annex H with information on specific guidance for conducted disturbance measurements on telecommunication ports and Annex I containing examples of asymmetric artificial networks, have been added. The three annexes also originate from CISPR 22. When defining specifications regarding measurement of radio disturbances it is recommended to the Committees responsible for EMC products to consider the respective specifications of the standard series CISPR 16 or EN 55016 with respect to test instrumentation, measurement methods and measurement uncertainty. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 767.4 "Geräte und Verfahren zum Messen von elektromagnetischen Aussendungen" ("Equipment and methods for measurement of electromagnetic transmissions") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
