Overview
This standard is applicable for measurements of the performance of dry vacuum cleaners for household use in or under conditions similar to those in households. The purpose of this standard is to specify essential performance characteristics of dry vacuum cleaners being of interest to the users and to describe methods for measuring these characteristics. Compared with DIN EN 60312:2008-11, the following changes have been made: a) EN 60312 is divided into 3 parts, this Part 1 for dry vacuum cleaners, Part 2 (under consultation) for wet carpet cleaning appliances and Part 3 for cleaning robots for household use; requirements and tests regarding to energy labelling have been optimised and fundamentally revised; c) the standard has been structurally revised. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 513.7 "Bodenbehandlungsgeräte" ("Floor treatment appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
