This standard specifies the safety requirements for single-capped fluorescent lamps for general lighting purposes of all groups having 2G7, 2GX7, 2G8, GR8, 2G10, G10q, GR10q, GU10q, GX10q, GY10q, GZ10q, 2G11, 2GX11-1, 2GX13, G23, GX23, G24, GX24, GZ24q and GX32 caps. It also specifies the method a manufacturer should use to show compliance with the requirements of this standard on the basis of whole production appraisal in association with his test records on finished products. This method can also be applied for certification purposes. Details of a batch test procedure which can be used to make limited assessment of batches are also given in this standard. The standard deals with photobiological safety according to IEC 62741 and IEC/TR 62471-2. Lamps according to this standard do not reach a risk level requiring risk group marking.
