Sekundärbatterien (ausgenommen Lithium-Batterien) für den Antrieb von Elektrostraßenfahrzeugen - Kapazitäts- und Lebensdauerprüfungen (IEC 61982:2012); Deutsche Fassung EN 61982:2012
Overview
This standard is applicable to performance and endurance tests for secondary batteries used for vehicle propulsion applications. Its main objective is to specify essential characteristics of cells, batteries, monoblocks, modules and battery systems used for propulsion of electric road vehicles, including hybrid electric vehicles. The test methods for specification of these characteristics are included. The standard replaces the previous standards DIN EN 61982-1 (VDE 0510-32):2007-07, DIN EN 61982-2:2003-05 and DIN EN 61982-3:2002-05 which still included lithium battery systems. This standard is applicable to lead-acid batteries, Ni/Cd batteries, Ni/MH batteries and sodium based batteries used in electric road vehicles but not to lithium-based battery systems. Different test methods tailored to each vehicle requirements are specified. Annex A specifies performance and cycle life test procedures of Ni/MH batteries used for the propulsion of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The committee responsible for the standard is DKE/UK 371 "Akkumulatoren" ("Secondary cells and batteries") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
