Fixed resistors for use in electronic equipment - Part 1: Generic specification (IEC 60115-1:2008, modified); German version EN 60115-1:2011
Festwiderstände zur Verwendung in Geräten der Elektronik - Teil 1: Fachgrundspezifikation (IEC 60115-1:2008, modifiziert); Deutsche Fassung EN 60115-1:2011
Overview
This part of IEC 60115 has been prepared by CLC/TC 40XB as a consolidated version. The generic specification contains basic requirements for fixed resistors for use in electronic equipment. Standardized terms and definitions, control procedures and methods of test are introduced and explained for sectional and detail specifications of electronic components for quality assessment or any other purpose. The generic specification explains terms and definitions which are used in the standards for fixed resistors and also lists the essential preferred values for nominal values, marking, coding, packaging, storage and transport. Test and measuring methods are expanded - essential parts of the test have been revised for this purpose - and new tests, such as the test for whisker growth, have been incorporated. In Annex B rules for the preparation of detail specifications for resistors and capacitors for electronic equipment for use within the IECQ system are listed. In Annex C test equipment for the periodic-pulse high-voltage overload test is described. The index table in Annex G is intended for clear access to the described test and measurement procedures. The extensive quality assessment procedures in Annex Q of the standard are also worth mentioning. This generic specification and the associated sectional and detail specifications are suitable for use in the framework of a quality assessment system for electronic components, for instance for the IEC Quality Assessment System for Electronic Components (IECQ). The responsible committee is GK 613 "Widerstände" ("Resistors") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
