Overview
The standard is applicable to saddles, stick clamps and their accessories, used for live working. The products designed and manufactured according to this standard contribute to the safety of the users provided they are used by skilled persons, in accordance with safe methods of work and the instructions for use. The responsible Subcommittee is UK 214.5 "Ausrüstungen und Geräte zum Arbeiten unter Spannung; Arbeitsgeräte und starre Schutzvorrichtungen" ("Equipment and devices for live working; Working equipment and rigid protective devices") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
