Overview
This new edition specifies safety and performance requirements applicable to limited duty arc welding and cutting power sources, and auxiliaries designed for use by laymen. The specifications cover wire feeders, torches and electrode holders which are in connection with those welding power sources. With respect to the previous edition, the scope has been extended, and amendments induced by DIN EN 60974-1 (VDE 0544-1):2006-07 have been made. The responsible Committee is K 361 "Lichtbogenschweißeinrichtungen (Schmelzschweißen)" ("Electric arc welding equipment (Fusion welding)") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) of DIN and VDE.
