Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-16: Testing and measurement techniques - Test for immunity to conducted, common mode disturbances in the frequency range 0 Hz to 150 kHz (IEC 61000-4-16:1998 + A1:2001 + A2:2009); German version EN 61000-4-16:1998 + A1:2004 + A2:2011
Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit (EMV) - Teil 4-16: Prüf- und Messverfahren - Prüfung der Störfestigkeit gegen leitungsgeführte, asymmetrische Störgrößen im Frequenzbereich von 0 Hz bis 150 kHz (IEC 61000-4-16:1998 + A1:2001 + A2:2009); Deutsche Fassung EN 61000-4-16:1998 + A1:2004 + A2:2011
Overview
This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 61000-4-16:1998+A1:2004+A2:2011 and is identical with the International Standard IEC 61000-4-16:1998 and their Amendments 1:2001 and 2:2009. It specifies the test and a range of preferred test levels for immunity of electric and electronic equipment to conducted, common mode disturbances in the range 0 Hz to 150 kHz. Information about the cause and the sources of such disturbances and coupling mechanisms by means of which the disturbances can be transferred to equipment are given in the standard in a clause with the heading "General" and in Annex A. For the purpose of the immunity testing of electric and electronic equipment and devices, the standard specifies a range of preferred test levels which apply, on the one hand, for endurance and short-term tests with direct voltages and with alternating voltages with power supply frequencies 0 Hz, 162/3 Hz, 50 kHz and 60 Hz and, on the other hand, for tests with alternating voltages in the frequency range 15 Hz to 150 kHz. Furthermore, it describes the required test set-up and test procedures and contains general specifications for the test report and evaluation of test results. With respect to the previous edition, the dated references have been changed into undated and the references to ITU-T Recommendations have been deleted, amongst others. Furthermore, clause 8.2 on the procedure has been supplemented by the information that no specific test is necessary for the earthing terminal. Due to this, the respective previous note has been omitted. The responsible Committees is Subcommittee UK 767.1 "Niederfrequente leitungsgeführte Stromgrößen" ("Low-frequency conducted disturbances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
