DIN EN 50383
; VDE 0848-383:2011-06
Basic standard for the calculation and measurement of electromagnetic field strength and SAR related to human exposure from radio base stations and fixed terminal stations for wireless telecommunication systems (110 MHz - 40 GHz); German version EN 50383:2010
Overview
This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 50383:2010 with specifications for determination of electromagnetic field strength and specific absorption rate (SAR) in the frequency range from 110 MHz to 40 GHz related to the safety of persons exposed to electromagnetic fields caused by radio base stations and fixed terminal stations for wireless telecommunication systems. The purpose of this standard is to specify the method for verification of compliance of reference values for the electromagnetic field or basic restrictions for the specific absorption rate (SAR) by the devices included in this standard. The description of the methods for determination and the specifications regarding the phantom are contained in this standard, whereby reference is now made to EN 62209-2:2010. With respect to the previous edition, the metrological specifications have been extended from 3 GHz to 6 GHz. The responsible Committee is K 764 "Sicherheit in elektromagnetischen Feldern" ("Safety in electromagnetic fields") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
