Industrial, scientific and medical equipment - Radio-frequency disturbance characteristics - Limits and methods of measurement (IEC/CISPR 11:2009, modified + A1:2010); German version EN 55011:2009 + A1:2010
Industrielle, wissenschaftliche und medizinische Geräte - Funkstörungen - Grenzwerte und Messverfahren (IEC/CISPR 11:2009, modifiziert + A1:2010); Deutsche Fassung EN 55011:2009 + A1:2010
Overview
This standard contains the German version of the European Standard EN 55011:2009 + A1:2010. It takes over Edition 5 of the International Standard IEC/CISPR 11 (2009 Edition) and its Amendment 1:2010 with common European modifications. The standard applies to the radio disturbance suppression of industrial, scientific, medical and domestic radio-frequency equipment and ISM RF applications in the frequency range from 150 kHz to 400 GHz; it specifies the required limits for interference voltages and interference field strength and the associated methods of measurement at a measuring station or at the installation and operating location of the equipment to be measured. However, measurements shall only be carried out at frequencies for which limits have been specified. It is intended to transfer the specifications regarding radio disturbance suppression of induction cooking appliances from IEC/CISPR 11 to IEC/CISPR 14-1. In this context, a note has been supplemented in clause 1, according to which, for the time being, IEC/CISPR 11 and IEC/CISPR 14-1 can be selected between. Devices and equipment covered by this standard are divided into two classes, class A and class B, depending on the operating location (residential or industrial sector). They are also classified into group 2, if the generated radio-frequency energy is necessary for the treatment of materials and/or for examination or analysis. The other equipment covered by this standard is classified into group 1. The fundamental frequencies for ISM equipment which have been specified by the International Telecommunication Union and the additionally specified fundamental frequencies for individual CENELEC member states are also indicated in this standard (Table 1 contains frequencies specified by the ITU and Table ZB.1 contains the frequencies for ISM equipment which have been specified for the individual CENELEC member states). Once again special attention is drawn to the protection of safety radio services and particularly sensitive radio services. The corresponding frequency ranges of these services are given in the informative Annexes F and G of this standard. The standard also contains specifications for the statistical determination of conformity and the consideration of uncertainty of the measurement equipment. With regard to the previous edition, specifications have been introduced for the measurement of small appliances where the measuring distances are shorter than 10 m. Therefore, the previous criterion which follows the appliance class has been replaced by a criterion following the size of the appliance and definition 3.10 has been supplemented. The corresponding specifications have been incorporated into the affected tables of limits. Furthermore, note 2 indicating that higher measurement uncertainties may have to be taken into account when measurements are carried out in measurement distances shorter than 10 m. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 767.11 "EMV von Betriebsmitteln und Anlagen für häusliche, gewerbliche, industrielle, wissenschaftliche und medizinische Anwendungen, die beabsichtigt oder unbeabsichtigt HF erzeugen, sowie von Beleuchtungseinrichtungen" ("EMC of equipment for domestic, commercial, industrial, scientific and medical applications, which intentionally or unintentionally generate RF, and of lighting equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
