Overview

This standard applies to the safety of electrically operated oral hygiene appliances for household and similar use, their rated voltage being no more than 250 V. Through Amendment A11, requirements for persons requiring protection are incorporated. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 511.10 "Kleingeräte" ("Small appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
