Overview
This standard deals with the safety of electrical appliances incorporating emitters for exposing the skin to ultraviolet or infrared radiation, for household and similar use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. The consolidated European edition is adopted with this edition. The responsible Committee is K 511 "Sicherheit elektrischer Hausgeräte" ("Safety of household appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
