Overview
This part of IEC 62317 is a product standard and specifies the important dimensions for mechanical interchangeability for a series of pot-cores (cup-cores) manufactured from ferrite and the dimensional limits for bobbins to be used with these cores. The selection of core sizes decided upon for this standard are based on the philosophy of including those sizes which are industry standards, as they are either included in a national standard or find wide application in the industry. In regards to further details about the selection philosophy for core sizes to be included, see IEC 62317-1. For calculation of the effective core parameters, reference is made to IEC 60205. The essential contemplations upon which the design of this series of pot-cores is based are given in Annex A. The responsible Committee is K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic construction elements and components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Informational Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
