Title (German)

Kunststoffe - Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung des Verhaltens gegen flüssige Chemikalien (ISO 175:2010); Deutsche Fassung EN ISO 175:2010

Overview

This International Standard specifies a method of exposing test specimens of plastic materials, free from all external restraint, to liquid chemicals. It also contains methods for determining the changes in properties resulting from such immersion. This standard is applicable to all solid plastics that are available in the form of moulding or extrusion materials, plates, tubes, rods or sheets having a thickness greater than 0,1 mm. It is not applicable to cellular materials. This standard only considers testing by immersion of the entire surface of the test specimen. It does not cover environmental stress cracking (ESC) which is dealt with by the various parts of ISO 22088. The International Standard ISO 175:2010 has been prepared by ISO/TC 61/SC 6 "Ageing, chemical and environmental resistance" (secretariat: DIN, Germany). CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held by NBN (Belgium) is responsible for the European Standard. On the national level, the Committee responsible for this standard is NA 054-01-04 AA "Verhalten gegen Umwelteinflüsse" ("Environmental resistance") at FNK.
