Overview
This standard applies to the safety of electrically operated dishwashing machines for washing plates, dishes, glassware, cutlery and similar articles, with or without means for water heating or drying. These appliances are not intended for household use, their rated voltage is not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral and 480 V for other appliances. These appliances are used in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and commercial enterprises, such as bakeries and butcher's shops. Examples for such appliances are: tub dishwashers and brush machines. Annex CC specifies requirements to prevent non-potable water from being sucked back into the public water supply, and Annex ZAA specifies noise requirements. This standard also applies to the electrical part of appliances which are operated with other types of energy. By incorporating A11:2010-01 into the European Standard EN 60335-2-58:2005, the clauses 1 "Scope", 7 "Marking and instructions", the Annexes AA "Detergent and rinsing agent", ZC "Normative references to international publications with their corresponding European publications" and the "Bibliography" have been supplemented or changed. Annex ZAA "Noise" has been added. The responsible Committee is Subcommittee UK 511.1 "Wäschepflegegeräte und Geschirrspüler" ("Motor-operated appliances") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) of DIN and VDE.
