Overview
This part of IEC 62489 applies to the components of audio-frequency induction-loop systems for assisted hearing. It may also be applied to induction-loop systems used for other purposes, as far as it is applicable. It is intended to encourage accurate and uniform presentation of manufacturers' specifications, which can be verified by standardized methods. The standard is intended for type testing. The following components are considered: - amplifiers; - microphones; - other components, such as playback equipment. The responsible Committee is Joint Subcommittee GUK 821.6 "Hörgeräte und audiometrische Messtechnik" ("Hearing aids and audiometric measurements") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
