Overview
This part of DIN EN 61202 is a generic specification and addresses the manufacturers and customers of fibre optic isolators. Thereby it promotes compatibility between the products for locating the described components. The standard specifies terms and definitions, specifies classification requirements and gives suggestions for marking and packaging. Detail specifications can be prepared on the basis of this standard. Amongst other things the standard refers to the DIN EN 61754 (Optical interface) and the DIN EN 61300 (Basic test and measurement procedures) standard series. The responsible Subcommittee is UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
