Overview
This standard applies to tungsten filament incandescent lamps for general lighting service (GLS) which comply with the safety requirements in DIN EN 60432-1 (VDE 0715-1) and display the following characteristics: - a rated output of 25 W up to and including 200 W; - a rated voltage of 100 V up to 250 V, including marked voltage ranges not higher than 2,5 % of the medium voltage; - bulbs of shape A or shape PS; - clear, frosted and similarly coated bulbs or white coated bulb design: - cap B22d or E27. The standard contains the performance requirements for lamps, including test methods and means of confirming compliance with the requirements. These test methods are also applicable for the assessment of tungsten filament incandescent lamps which are not directly covered by the scope of this standard, for instance other bulb shapes, finishes, and so on. The Subcommittee responsible for this standard is UK 521.1 "Elektrische Lampen" ("Electrical lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
