Thunderstorm warning systems - Protection against lightning
Abstract
This document describes the characteristics of thunderstorm warning systems (TWS) for the implementation of preventive measures against lightning hazards. Individual measuring receivers and/or a network of measuring receivers (e.g. a lightning detection system) can be used as TWS. This document provides requirements for measuring receivers and networks that collect accurate data on the relevant parameters and provide real-time information on lightning and atmospheric electrical activities. It describes the application of the data collected by these measuring receivers and networks in the form of alerts and historical data.
