Abstract
This part of IEC 60794 applies to optical fibre cables for use with telecommunication and similar techniques and cables that include a combination of optical fibres and electrical conductors. The purpose of this standard is to specify test methods that can be used in the establishment of uniform requirements for mechanical repeated bending in accordance with procedure E6. In this standard, the term ‘fibre optic cable´ may also include optical fibre units, micro-fibre optic cable units, etc. General requirements and definitions, as well as a complete reference work for all types of test procedures, are included in IEC 60794-1-2.
