Abstract
This part of IEC 61800 specifies requirements for adjustable speed power BDM/CDM systems (PDS) or their components, taking into account electrical, thermal and energy safety considerations. It does not cover BDM/CDM equipment with the exception of interface requirements. It applies to adjustable speed electrical BDM/CDM systems that include power conversion, BDM/CDM control and the motor or motors. Excluded are BDM/CDM for railways and electric vehicles.
