Abstract
This prestandard describes explanations of DIN EN 1175 (VDE 0117):2020-10. The structure of the clauses of this document is identical to the structure of DIN EN 1175 (VDE 0117):2020-10, so that the explanatory texts of this document can be easily assigned to the clauses of DIN EN 1175 (VDE 0117):2020-10. However, only the relevant clauses/subclauses are listed. In DIN EN 1175 (VDE 0117):2020-10, dedicated provisions are made for the implementation and verification of adequate vehicle safety, including the formulation of requirements in the form of safety functions and the formulation of requirements with regard to new developments and technologies. However, the complexity of the topics, the reference to the DIN EN ISO 13849 series and the variety of vehicle concepts on the market can lead to unanswered questions for vehicle and EE system developers in the actual application. This guide therefore aims to provide information on the essential points and requirements of DIN EN 1175 (VDE 0117):2020-10 in a safety-related context and to provide assistance for understanding and application.
