Abstract
This part of IEC 60794 applies to optical fibre cables for use with telecommunications equipment and equipment using similar techniques, and to cables containing a combination of optical fibres and electrical conductors. The objective of this standard is to specify test methods that can be used in establishing uniform requirements for the mechanical strippability of buffered optical fibres. In this standard, the term "optical fibre" may also include optical fibre units, micro-optical fibre units, etc. General requirements and definitions as well as a complete reference for all types of test methods are given in IEC 60794-1-2.
