Electronic railway equipment - Train communication network (TCN) - Part 2-7: Wireless Train Backbone (WLTB)
Abstract
This document defines Wireless Train Backbone (WLTB) requirements to fulfil open train data communication system. This document applicable to the train backbone of a variety of wireless communication method, mainly including Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) and Cellular Network communications. In the scenario of applying same communication technology, interoperability between local consist subnets is ensured, regardless of the technology adopted by the consist network. This document does not apply to linear topology network structures that only replace wired communication at the coupler connection with wireless communication. All other consist network definitions of using wireless communication in train backbone should take this standard into account to preserve interoperability. This standard may be additionally applicable to closed trains, multiple-unit trains when so agreed between purchaser and supplier.
