Abstract
This document specifies general requirements for the construction, testing and performance of electrically operated apparatus for the detection of flammable gases, designed for continuous operation in a fixed installation in domestic, in household and more generally in non-industrial premises. The apparatus can be mains or battery powered. Gas detectors or gas detection system, which may be installed where there may be a source of danger to the public, such as premises intended to be used in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this document.
