This document specifies the characteristics of copper and copper alloy messenger wires for use on overhead contact lines. This document also covers auxiliary messenger wires. The term “messenger wires” used in this document includes auxiliary messenger wires. It establishes the product characteristics, the test methods, checking procedures to be used with the messenger wires, together with the ordering and delivery condition.
