Get involved: ISO Open Consultation on resource-efficient software launched
Digitalization is progressing and offers immense opportunities - but it also contributes significantly to increasing energy and resource consumption. Artificial intelligence (AI) in particular shows how energy-intensive modern technologies are. In order to counteract these negative environmental impacts, the focus is now shifting to resource-efficient software. However, this field is not yet firmly anchored in standardization.
This is now set to change: With the new ISO Open Consultation process, all interested parties from business, science, administration and society have the opportunity to actively participate in the needs analysis for standards in this new subject area. By May 2025, a finished report with prioritized needs is to be produced within a few months - at an international level.
Get involved now: Your expertise is needed!
The innovative process developed by DIN and ISO invites you to actively participate in the discussion and development of standards for resource-efficient software. Through a series of workshops, you can contribute your expertise and ideas to jointly develop concrete solutions.
